Tech Recycle Workforce Training Program

Goodwill Houston x CompuCycle

Where Retired Electronics Start Careers.

Tech Recycle is a 12-week paid workforce training program for transition-age students with disabilities. Goodwill Houston runs the training. CompuCycle recycles the electronics that school districts retire, and every device is wiped before students touch it.

For districts, Tech Recycle is a recycling transaction, not a donation. You receive certified data destruction, audit-ready documentation, and recovered material value.

For students, it is paid, hands-on work-based learning at no cost to them. Goodwill Houston funds every paycheck in full, separate from the value returned to districts.

School Districts
Recycle Devices

Retired electronics go to CompuCycle for certified data destruction and audit-ready reporting before training begins.

Students with Disabilities Train

Students learn to dismantle electronics for material recovery during a 12-week paid training program run by Goodwill Houston.

Paid Training,
Real Jobs

Goodwill Houston pays every student and graduates leave certified with a path into its job placement pipeline.

Value Back to the Districts

CompuCycle recycles the materials in-house and returns recovered material value to participating districts.

The greatest part about this program is we're paying these students. They now have a job. They have a resume builder.

It really is such a win-win where we can make a difference and we can do something for the community as well as the environment.
