When you donate your electronics at Goodwill, their team looks at each device to see what can be safely reused to support local job training and community programs.
Anything that isn’t a fit for reuse is sent straight to CompuCycle’s secure, certified Houston facility, where it’s recycled responsibly—not shipped away or handled by a third party.
This means your donation always makes a positive impact, whether it helps someone directly through Goodwill or is recycled the right way right here in Houston.
Before donating any electronic device, you are solely responsible for backing up, deleting, or otherwise removing all personal, confidential, or sensitive information stored on the device.
Goodwill of Greater Houston and CompuCycle do not access, inspect, delete, recover, or verify data on donated electronics and assume no liability for any data, passwords, software, or digital content that remains on a device after donation.
Most devices include built-in tools to perform a factory reset or data wipe, and manufacturers provide publicly available instructions for securely erasing your information.
Bring your household electronics to a participating Goodwill of Greater Houston donation center. Their team will guide you on what they can accept at each location and make sure your items enter the right stream for reuse or recycling.
